NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Some Middle Tennessee homeowners say they have been tricked into rebelling against solar power.
The whole idea was to save money, but according to them, they spent more money than they had before.
When they could not get answers from the company, they contacted News4 Investigates.
Walking in the sun was something that Raychel and Ryan Jamieson had been thinking about for years.
When they finally made the change, they felt differently.
“It seems we took the opportunity,” said Raychel Jamieson.
And what was supposed to save them big money did not.
“They are selling something they can’t afford,” said Raychel Jamieson.
The total cost of their system, which included 40 panels, was $ 92,000. That’s the way they pay each month on top of their electricity bill.
Ryan Jamieson said: “I’m still paying $ 330 for a loan and it will now be $ 450.”
News4 Researchers have received a complaint following an online complaint.
Better Business Bureau has a warning on its website that warns people about Pink Energy, a company that Jamiesons has used.
Ryan Jamieson said: “It does not do what we are promised.
They said getting help from Pink Energy was almost impossible.
The Jamiesons showed News4 They are investigating their electricity bills from pre-installed and rear panels. Some months they save as much as $ 22.
It took News4 Investigates to contact Pink Energy for Jamiesons to finally start getting the help they said they needed for months.
“Pink Energy is committed to customer satisfaction and is always looking for ways to better serve our customers and their needs. There are many types that affect solar energy production and we strongly encourage you to contact us. to customer@gopink.com for any queries or to get help to get the best out of their system, “a Pink Energy spokesman said in a statement.
Because the Jamiesons have not had an internet connection until recently, Pink Energy has not been able to monitor their usage and monitor any problems.
Now that everything has been the way it should be, they are hopeful that their next paycheck will be lower than it once was.
“We thought we would be generating enough energy to reduce administrative costs, or at least another system,” Ryan Jamieson said.
The Jamiesons hope their story will not only warn others, but also show people how important it is to do your research before choosing a company.
